My interest revolves around the magic of plants. We have co-evolved with plants and have used them longer than we know. Plants have the capacity to produce the alchemical gold from the transformation of earth, air, fire and water. I study the chemistry of plants, specializing in isolating and identifying biologically active constituents, specifically those that have been used by people in traditional medicial systems. I love being in the field more than being in the lab, but I've got more training at the lab bench with crazy analytical instrumentation.
Currently, I'm also working on understanding biology a little better, from a molecular standpoint, so that I can devise ways of understanding what phytochemicals do to mamalian systems...
